My Cell Phone Background

I think I got serious about cells phones when I realized that they could do more than just make phone calls...namely I discovered mobile internet access.

Samsung SCH-3500 - Sprint:
Wow! I could use a built in browser on the phone to check my Yahoo! email on that tiny black and white screen and even connect my PDA to the internet via a special cable. But it was sssssslow and who wants cables anyway?

Ericsson T68 - T-Mobile:
I was smitten by the Ericsson T68 and the idea of bluetooth. and decided to switch over to T-Mobile. Loved the phone, loved the bluetooth, hated the service. Reception was a constant issue. I discovered text messaging with this phone

Sony Ericsson T608 - Sprint
Sprint: Aaah back to Sprint with a bluetooth no less. The phone nearly died before it was released but thanks to the efforts of the good folks at Sprint PCS Info, now PCS Intel, it did and I bought it the first day it was available. Sprints coverage was great and the phone was full featured but suffered from some bugs and abysmal battery life. It remains the single best phone in terms of reception that I have ever owned. But it was ignored by both Sprint and Sony-Ericsson and thus was destined to never have any of its issues addressed. More on this phone at a later date.

LG PM-325 - Sprint:
Sprint's next bluetooth phone, more modern and actually supported. But the crippled bluetooth by disabling the file transfer functions. Still its a good phone. More on this phone at a later date.

Welcome to Things I Use

I'll be the first to admit that I am prone to pick up gadgets, devices, tools and general doodads that are supposed to make my tasks, projects and life in general easier. Predictably results are often mixed. I plan to share the Things I Use...what works for me and what doesn't in the hopes that you find it helpful. There are no boundaries here, topics will range from electronic gadgets like PDA's and cell phones to something as simple as the tools I find indispensable when painting my basement. So with that...we're off!
